FOWL FACES

FOWL FACES   FOR LACE

Photos taken by Marit de Haan

There are more chickens than people on our Planet. For a lot of people, chickens are production animals for meat or eggs. Unfortunately, most of these chickens still spend their lives in cages or are packed together in barns without a ray of sunlight.

But all these chickens have a face! And behind every face hides a story.

With the photo exhibition Fowl Faces and our Fowl Films  we would like to show you happy faces of chickens, that lead a free and comfortable life in the open air.

A way of life that every chicken deserves!

Take a deep breath and plunge in, to lose your heart to the outer and inner beauty of this animal.

Welcome to Fowl Faces. We hope you'll enjoy it!

"'Fowl Faces' is an unexpected exhibition,  full of sensitivity and investment,  finally a look at our world full of compassion and authenticity, a look that communicates and educates, so thank you for awakening us with beauty and gentleness. "

Review about the book Fowl Faces on AMAZON
31 DECEMBER 2020 BY SUSAN C
"It is the year of the covid-19 pandemic - and so I finally took the step and got 5 little chicks in late spring. Because we had to stay home I spent a lot of time with them - and so thoroughly enjoy it. They are indeed 5 different characters and they get so excited when they hear me in the mornings.
I love the way this book shows off their beauty - it takes a while to see it, but yes, chickens are beautiful The photography is superb and inspiring. The stories are sweet and show the love for each little bird.
This book just shows that chickens are more then what most people make of them. They are beautiful pets who deserve to be treated with love and respect. This is a very beautiful book that every chicken lover will truly treasure."

In 2009 Fowl Faces celebrated its' 10th birthday. Please whatch the video below with some of our most precious memories.

NEW!!! PLEASE TAKE ACTION FOR CHICKENS

7 associations* have taken the initiative to send an unusual letter (watch the video below) to heads of state and  organisations like the EU, UN, etc., asking them to take their responsibility to prevent pandemics in the future by implementing some ambitious measures: in the long run, we must stop the consumption of animals and their products. At the moment, we are doing everything we can to fight the COVID-19 virus, but we must never forget where the virus actually comes from. There is little doubt that it comes from the consumption and sale of animals. COVID-19 is not the first pandemic. The largest was in 1918, when more than 50 million men, women and children died (almost the current population of France!) as a result of swine fever that also became transmissible from human to human through mutations.
We are convinced that if we don't change our behaviour towards animals, there is a good chance that other pandemics will emerge. Scientists have been warning us for a long time. It is a call for drastic change in our society. We realise that but we think it is necessary.
We invite other associations and organisations around the world to join us. Please contact us on the following address: nala85480@hotmail.com
